People En Español SALUD Case Study

Diabetes

The Challenge:

Of the 34 million American adults with type 2 diabetes, the Hispanic population is 17% more likely to develop the disease than non-Hispanic people. From prediabetes, the risk of getting type 2 diabetes and other serious health problems dramatically increases. Targeted Media Health aims to educate at-risk populations on prevention, treatment, and advertised drug promotion by reaching Spanish-speaking patients when and where it is most relevant. It is anticipated that this information will encourage more stimulating patient/physician avoid the development of type 2 diabetes and manage the symptoms of an already pre-existing disease.

The Solution:

To help fulfill this challenge, the People En Español SALUD issue was designed as a 32-page “take one” condition guide. Featured in the issue was a story on Carlos Merced, 5 ad pages to increase awareness of type 2 diabetes, and a PSA on prediabetes. Targeted Media Health reached 1,500+ targeted healthcare offices with this guide in June 2022.

The Results:

  • All the responding physicians are placing the People En Español SALUD magazines in the waiting room. Waiting Room: 100% | Exam Room: 23.1%
  • 92.3% of the responding physicians would recommend People En Español SALUD to their patients.
